Before & After

Replace a Missing Tooth: This story starts nearly a quarter-century
ago, when this patient, at the age of ten, chipped his tooth in a swimming
mishap. Years later, the weakened tooth snapped below the gumline, causing
our patient to lose the whole tooth.
Dr. Ross created a dental implant, in essence an artificial root, that
replaced the missing tooth. The jawbone bonds to the surface of the implant
much the way it would with a natural tooth root. A permanent crown is
now attached to the implant, and the patient can again chew corn on the
cob and apples a total resumption of normal function. He is an
athletic water-skier and distance swimmer, though we do recommend that
he avoid any poolside brawls!
